The Industrial & Energy Technology (IET) Internal Technical Training team is chartered with the development and delivery of state-of-the-art employee technical training courses providing high-quality, capable field service representatives for the Global Service business to apply across the oil & gas cycle.
As the IET GTS Control Training Instructor, you will be responsible for:
- Serving as an assigned member of the IET GTS Internal Technical Training staff at the Training Academy, qualified to conduct training sessions using approved training materials, and allowed to make revisions to training materials, including changes in scope or learning objectives as approved by the Technical Training Academy team.
- Taking a leadership role in working with Training Academy members to define, develop, and deliver training courses for BH and multi-vendor products (classroom, laboratory, and workshop – Hands On).
- Being responsible for development and delivery to IET population as well as Global Operations Field Service Engineers (both entry level and advanced) technical training courses on IET equipment, including scheduling supplemental support, ordering materials/tooling, and other essential resources to instruct both classroom and workshop Hands On activities.
- Leveraging Virtual and 3D environments as training aids during the lessons.
- Delivering training in different countries according to the IET Strategy and TA training calendar.
- Integrating applicable business processes into the technical training programs.
- Course scheduling & logistics per strategic business requests which may include, but not be limited to, ordering and coordinating shipment of the necessary equipment, tools, and consumables to deliver the assigned courses.
- Documentation & record keeping (leveraging technical reference materials where appropriate in training sessions, updating course material, and conducting student performance evaluations).
- Owning & driving course content improvement delivering on specific session CTQ’s.
- Leveraging business subject matter experts as extended training team members where appropriate.
- Aligning and revising the course content and material according to the IET GTS Quality procedures applicable.
- Actively contributing to the development and maintenance of the Field Service Engineers certification tests.
- Being responsible for the classroom setup before the beginning of the lessons and after the end of them.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have a Master’s Degree in Electronics or Software programming.
- Know PLC programming.
- Have knowledge of Generators and GPP.
- Be a self-starter, able to work on your own initiative.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Have a high level of interpersonal skills, collaboration, and integrity.
- Be fluent in spoken English.
- Have experience with adult learning concepts.
- Possess good knowledge of the Energy and/or Petroleum Market/Applications + BH IET product portfolio.
- Be able to read technical drawings/schematics.
- Have a valid passport and driver’s license.
- Be able to travel globally (30%+).
